BACK FROM SUPERPARK 12 AT MAMMOTH, CALIFORNIA
May 19 08
Well, its been a few days since I returned from Snowboarder Magazine's SUPERPARK 12 at Mammoth, California. My flight down there was joined by fellow shreds and friends including Nomis' Mark Sollars and Chris Wimbles, and Endeavor's Kale Stephens and Johnny "J-Bone" Lyall, and Sapient's Paavo Tikkanen. We all arrived in sunny Reno after a short stop-over in Seattle.

Seattle Police...POS...piece of..SH#!. hahaha

Chris Wimbles...incentives everywhere!

Some lake just before landing in Reno. Thought it looked cool.

RENO - I guess this is kind of similar to Vegas...? Me, hanging under the lights.

Andre, my Nomis TM picked Mark, Wimbles and I up with the rest of the Nomis crew (Simon, and photographer Rich Odam of Odamphoto.com). We headed west out of Nevada and into Cali. Being my first time in California to snowboard, we stopped at the famous In-N-Out burger. Stoked on my double cheese with a shake, we rolled out. Just a few miles outside ofMammoth, Simmy had the idea to play 'Sahara' desert in the van....this game invloves cranking the heat to full (keep in mind it's 25+ outside) and crank the dance music and get our dance on. First person to stop dancing or roll down then window looses... no one lost - it was fun nonetheless.

Sahara Desert....

Anyways, SuperPark was off the hook as per usual, big thanks to Pat Bridges and all of the snowboarder and Red Bull crew. We got some sweet shots, then peaced out back to Canada...
Time to try and get some last minute backcountry in - so hopefully I have something good to post in a few days about how I stomped the world's first quad-cork hahaha.
Here's some more photos... and for those who know CASPER!!!!

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE: SHEWCHUK, STEP UPS, HIPS, BLOWN-UP SLEDS
May 7 08
So, first of all, sorry for the delay in my lack of posting.... I suck. Here goes a quick re-cap of what I've been doing lately. Right now, I'm in California, Mammoth to be exact for Snowboarder's SUPERPARK 12. The weather is beat today, and Bridges called it off due to high winds until tomorrow. I'll post pics soon. I promise.
In order OLDEST to NEWEST (not sure if "newest" is even a word).

During the 2008 Telus Snow Festival in Whistler, a charity event and celebration of life was the place to be. Lots of people flew out from Ontario and all over to celebrate the life of the late Scott Shewchuk. For those of you who don't know, Schewchuk was the man in the snowboard and action sport event world. In fact, he got me into my first "big" contest - remember the "Snow Jam" Quaterpipe series... we'll he snuck Andrew Burns and myself in, and we ended up getting the boot after a few hits and banned from the Olympics apprantly - haha yah right! Anyway, here are some pics from the day: April 16th, 2008.
The crew, standing on top of Whistler before some epic laps.

The after-party and charity event. Blackalicious played for FREE!!!! SO sick!

Complimentary jager bomb's thanks to the GLC, Whistler.

eventSing's Andrew Singleton.

SBC's Scott Birke and Matt "Skin" Foresyth

Here is a photo of me swining on this old branch from a dead ancient Cedar in Cypress. We got some cool shots this day on some trees and stumps with Andrew Skelhorn, Nate Laverty (filming), and Matt Fimio (photo).

Here are some shots we (Jezz, Luke, and I) built. We shot it the next day with a Japanese crew - super nice guys and funny !!

On his last day in Whistler, I finally took my homeboy from Ontario, "Fat Dave" out sleding! Epic day! We literally had the backcountry to oursevles - it was weird and eery cuz no one was around.

Here's some shots from a hip we built in Rainbow; super fun session, some of the best shots this year! Thanks to Gonzo for shooting, and Lucas for filming.

My girlfriend FINALLY came back out to Whistler and is here until the end of May! STOKED!!!!
here she is on her first day back here, riding a foot of fresh snow on April 29th or so.

Jess (my girl) and her friend Dani B after destroying this huge bowl on Blackcomb!

Making it only 200 meters or so up the cat-track, our filmer Yan's sled blew up....thank God it's under warranty still. Sorry about the tow-out (I was tyring not to, but I ended up covering him and his sled in gravel and dirt - that's spring sledding for you).

That's it, that's all.... for now!
